(January 20, 2026) – Phoenix, AZ. Charity Storage, the official charity of the self storage industry and official charity partner of the Self Storage Association (SSA), announced that NSA Storage, (“National Storage Affiliates Trust”) (NYSE: NSA), a real estate investment trust with a network of more than 1,000 facilities across the US, is piloting the Charity Storage program at its SecurCare Self Storage facilities in Texas. NSA Storage has already enrolled over 50 facilities in the program, giving the company the opportunity to contribute to hunger relief through its chosen charity, Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and local meal programs.
The partnership with Charity Storage creates a new channel for NSA facilities to directly support local communities by enabling sites to easily auction collected items and donate proceeds to Feeding America, while also supporting Kure It Cancer Research, and the Self Storage Association Foundation (SSAF) Scholarship Program.
“Charity Storage empowers our facilities to give back to the communities that have supported our brands,” says Melissa Cameron, Chief Marketing Officer at NSA Storage and newly elected member of the Charity Storage Board of Directors. “The simplicity of this program makes it easy to give our teams a sense of purpose by helping them support local families through Feeding America and be part of a wider industry mission to support scholarship programs and cancer research.”
With NSA Storage’s recent onboarding to StorageTreasures, Charity Storage was easy to adopt and leverage in its continued efforts to make a meaningful impact across the nation. Through the integration of the two platforms, NSA’s SecurCare facilities can auction donated items from the community at no charge and seamlessly promote charity auctions across the StorageTreasures network.
This partnership gives NSA facility teams a simple, meaningful way to engage tenants, partner with their local communities, and band together to contribute to a cause that strives to solve the hunger crisis for families, children and other people in need across Texas and the rest of the country.
“Community has always been at the heart of the self storage industry,” says Kristi Adams, Chief Marketing Officer at OpenTech Alliance. “Charity Storage is a simple path to giving that helps operators give back to causes that truly matter to them and engage their teams in that greater purpose at the same time. We’re thrilled to support NSA brands through our new partnership to help its facilities expand support for their local communities.”
NSA Storage is home to six self storage brands across the nation including iStorage, SecurCare Self Storage, Northwest Self Storage, RightSpace Storage, Move It Storage, and Southern Self Storage. The company uses its resources to ensure that customers receive the same reliable services no matter which facility tenants choose to store their belongings. NSA Storage also focuses on the community by sponsoring not only Feeding America, but also educational programs like ACE Scholarships.
