Children’s Services Auxiliary (CSA)
The Children’s Services Auxiliary (CSA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1983, is a volunteer run organization whose mission is to meet the needs of Ventura County’s court-dependent children. These children have been displaced from their homes due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The Auxiliary also serves youth who have recently transitioned from the foster care system. The CSA Board of Directors works closely with Ventura County Children and Family Services to identify the needs of the court-dependent children and transitioning youth. The Auxiliary provides a variety of programs and services for the court-dependent children. Special funds have been established to pay for medical and dental expenses not covered by any other funding source. Some of these expenses include anesthesia for dental procedures, emergency medical treatment, prescriptions, contact lenses, and replacement glasses. We also provide funding for educational, life experience, and creative opportunities that help the children become well rounded and integrate into the community. These include computers, school activities, music, art, or dance classes, sports, summer camp, and much more. One of our largest annual activities is a Holiday Toy Store created with toys, books, and other gifts donated by the community. Foster parents, group homes, and needy families in the community are invited to shop for their children at no cost to them. In addition, the Auxiliary hosts two annual events for Foster Families including a summer picnic and a holiday party.
