Phoenix, AZ. Charity Storage, the official charity of the self storage industry and an official charity partner of the Self Storage Association (SSA), is pleased to announce that Accent Building Restoration (ABR), a premier provider of painting and maintenance services for the self storage industry and other commercial facilities nationwide, continued its ongoing sponsorship of Charity Storage with a $10K donation to support the program.
“Jamey and I are very proud to continue our support of Charity Storage,” said Jon Fawcett, President at ABR and Charity Storage Board Member. “This nonprofit means a great deal to the operators inside the self storage community, the charities that benefit from the program and those that volunteer their time to help the organization grow. Renewing our support in 2024 was an easy decision for Jamey and myself.”
Since 2016, the Fawcett brothers have been actively involved with Charity Storage, serving on its board of directors and sponsoring the program throughout the years.
“Charity Storage holds a special place in our hearts,” stated Jamey Fawcett, former President and current CEO at ABR and former Charity Storage Board Member.
“I was lucky enough to work closely with the nonprofit’s Co-Founder, Barry Hoeven. I understood his vision for the program and the positive impact he intended it to have on local communities nationwide,” said Jamey. “Seeing Charity Storage’s growth since the nonprofit’s inception is truly something special. Barry would be proud!”
Charity Storage has significantly expanded the self storage industry’s philanthropy efforts by distributing proceeds among three charities — a charity chosen by a facility manager, Kure It Cancer Research and the Self Storage Association Scholarship Foundation. This model has enabled sponsors like ABR and self storage operators nationwide to multiply their charitable efforts for good causes.
“There were two main reasons why Jon and I wanted to support Charity Storage — we loved the idea of supporting a cause that expands your charitable efforts. By supporting Charity Storage, I can support three other nonprofits. It’s a very neat model and it’s unlike any charity I know,” stated Jamey. “Cancer has had a negative impact on my family, so supporting Barry and this nonprofit was a natural choice for us. It’s our way of fighting back.”
“Jon and Jamey have been a big part of this program’s growth for the last eight years,” stated Mario Macaluso, Program Manager and Board Member of Charity Storage. “Accent Building Restoration is committed to this cause and believes in what our team is trying to build. We’re all very lucky and excited to have Jon and Jamey’s continued support.”
